An update…finally

It's been almost 5 weeks since Kona (although it feels much longer) and we have been non-stop since we arrived home. Read on to see what we've been up to...

I never did get a Kona race report up but did an interview with TriZone Women that pretty much sums up how my race went. You can read the interview here. I was looking to improve on my 10th place finish from last year but it wasn't to be and I ended up a disappointing 17th. The goal for 2014 will be to get back to Kona to take care of some unfinished business!

We arrived back in Flagstaff after Kona and spent a couple of days doing some tourist activities that we normally wouldn't do because of all our training. We rode the ski lift up Snowbowl Mountain which starts at 9,000 feet and goes up to 13,000 feet, visited the cliff dwellings at Walnut Canyon and talked to the Northern Arizona University Triathlon Club.

Next stop was Taos, NM to spend a couple of days. A bit out of the way back to Austin but we've never spent any time in Taos, so we wanted to check it out. We walked around a lot, enjoyed the unique shops in town, visited the Pueblo and soaked in the hot springs.

After Taos we made the long haul back to Texas with a few more stops on the way. First stop was Glen Rose, Tx to visit B's parents. A little bit of 4-wheeling, target shooting and lots of sleeping made for some relaxing couple of days. Then it was off to Georgetown, Tx to visit my parents. A nice lunch to catch up and we were finally on our way home, but not for long.

We were only home for a few days before we were back on the road again. This time we headed to small town Brady, Tx for Halloween weekend to visit our good friends Heath, Larissa and their daughter Riley. I don't think we've ever dressed up for Halloween since we've been married! We decided to dress up this year since we were going to a party where everyone else would be in costume. Our costume was a big hit and we even made Slowtwitch for it. Funny it takes a good Halloween costume for us to make Slowtwitch!

From Brady, Tx we headed to Corpus Christi to do a talk with the Corpus Christi Triathlon Club. We enjoyed talking about all things triathlon to beginners and multiple Ironman finishers. It was a great turnout and we have to thank our friend Giancarlo for organizing such a fun event!

Whew...we are now home catching up on life as it's been a crazy but fun couple of weeks. Still enjoying some down time but looking forward to easing back into some training soon but not too soon.

We are in the process of revamping our website so stay tuned!
